The salt production is now a very well planned and equipped activity in the Croatia. It was earlier a very normal activity in Nin near Zadar but now it is a fully devised program for the tourists. This happened when two years ago a salt plant in Nin was converted into a natural park and numerous guides were made available for the tourists. This development started of with this activity. The salt park in Ston and Nin are the two unique ones in the Adriatic where salt is produced using traditional methodologies. The technology which was used about thousands of years ago for the production of salt is used in these salt parks. It basically involves the usage of sea water from the shallow pool.
As a result of this method the entire area surrounding this place was needed to be protected as a natural good so as to conserve the flora and fauna. The project by the UN named Natura 2000 will prove supportive because ultimately it will be helping them conserve the entire Laguna as well. These salts plants can be regarded as an ancient commodity because these were created during the Roman era. This program of salt production using ancient methods entices tourists and lures them. Tourists appreciate this art and ultimately buy various souvenirs of Mediterranean.
Since the methods used for salt production is purely natural and due to the presence of algae in the sea, salt contains high amount of iodine. This makes this salt quite special. Scented bath salt which is processed using natural oils and crystals of salts are two products which are always in high demand in the markets.

Zadar is the perfect city break destination, says the London Times.
The journalist notes the Zadar offering has gone through a renaissance, with an increasing number of hotels, bars and clubs, as well as a fun atmosphere that comes to special prominence during the event “Night of the full moon”, which the journalist attended last year. Particularly commending the atmosphere of Zadar, the author also points out that the city now has excellent flight connections with other European cities. The budget airline Ryanair provides 5 direct flights between Zadar and London a week. The journalist also shares his enthusiasm with the club Arsenal, an 18th-century Venetian storehouse turned into an art-gallery, nightclub and small shopping mall. The article also mentions the club The Garden, known around the world and owned by a British music producer, and The Garden Festival that the owner initiated. The journalist also describes his trips to the Zadar surroundings, including the Island of Šiljak, the smallest inhabited Croatian island with a population of only 50 people, who all share the same last name.

The town of Nin, a tourist center very near to Zadar, will with its healing mud baths, which have attracted tourists for years, soon become the location of a great project, which will commence at the end of this year. The 60 million Euros investment has been taken over by the Zadar company Tankerska plovidba from Norwegian investors. The investors announce that the sports recreational center ‘Ninsko blato’, will cover over 16 hectares of land in Nin and Privlaka, on an area that has been well known for its healing mud for centuries. The Nin mud was used in Roman times to heal rheumatic, skin and spinal illnesses. It is the largest site of healing mud in Europe. As part of the project, two hotels with an overall accommodation capacity of 700 beds is planned. The hotels will also feature luxury suites, a sports and recreational center and various gyms. A wharf for smaller boats, several restaurants, shops, indoor and outdoor pool and wellness center are also planned. The Ninsko blato project is one of the largest greenfield investments in Croatia.

In Zadar, the Museum of Antique Glass was opened, a unique museum of its kind, not only in Croatia, but in the entire world. The public can see around 2,000 various glass objects from Antiquity, dating from the 1st century BC to the 5th century AD. These unique objects have been discovered in sites in Zadar, Nin, Starigrad beneath Velebit and in Asseria near Benkovac. The antique glass from other parts of the country will be shown virtually so visitors can get an impression of the entire Croatian collection. Interestingly, the museum has another 2,000 glass objects stored away. Spread over 2,500 square metres, the museum also features a specialized library, conference hall, a glassblowing workshop and souvenir shop. The museum was designed by architect Branko Silađin, and is located in the renovated and reconstructed historical palace of the Cosmecendi family. Before coming to the Zadar museum, the exhibits were shown in international exhibitions in Rome, Venice, Lisbon and other cities.
