Camping in Croatia – Turnover increased in comparison to last year
If you look at records, you would find most of the camps have increased turnover towards the end of August. It has been proved again and had turned out to be a very successful camping expedition in Croatia. The success of camps had not only enhanced the reputation of Croatia, but also opened new investment opportunities for many Croatians. The success of camps in Croatia had also given the country, a reputation of being the most probable competitive camping destination of the Mediterranean region in the coming times.
According to a recent survey conducted on the Croatian camps, the report suggests that the overnight stay had increased considerably compared to last time. The report also points out to the fact that owners had been incredibly surprised by the increase of 2.5% in overnight stay by the campers comparatively to 2008. The whole story of world wide recession had not affected the camping expeditions in Croatia.
The report also adds some of the results of the most developed camping destination of Croatia, the Istria camping destination where the overnight stay of campers increased by 2.6%, while more better camps such as Dalmatia, showed an increase of 10%.
What is more surprising is the increase in pre season overnight stay by campers, which was an overwhelming 4.5%; while August recorded an astounding 10% overall increase in overnight stays in comparison to last year.
Most of the campers come to Croatia from Germany, Slovenia, Holland, Czechoslovakia, Austria and Italy. They make about 82% of the campers who stay through the night.
Croatia has a huge presence of camping destinations all through the country, with 232 camps and 302 small household camps. The camps can accommodate 2, 24,000 people. The camps, in fact make up a quarter of Croatian accommodation capacities and overnight stays.
